I would say you have a stick up your ***. Its absolutely ridiculous to think serving mac and cheese to guests is uncouth. If its friends or family so be it there is no rules that says Lobster must be served with Champagne. The act of breaking bread and sharing what you have with your guests is more important that what you are serving.

Here's a thought - go out and purchase the caviar, patte, and fine wine yourself rather than criticizing your mother. If you don't like it, fine. But don't judge. It makes you sound uncouth for being a snob.

Well, instead of criticizing the woman who carried you for 9 months and then took care of you and protected you, you could try cooking the meal for your guests. And maybe even make it a habit and cook a meal or two for your mom every once and a while. Instead of criticizing her using SAT words from the prep book you made her buy you.

Print off some recipes from Jolene, the Trailer Park Queen and give them to your mom. I'm sure there is a recipe there that will top you Trailer Park Momma's Velveeta Shells & Cheese!
