Hi -

If you're located anywhere outside of the United Kingdom, there's a very good chance that you have no clue what a stone is. Instead of using the funky system we have to measure weight in the US (i.e. in pounds), the UK uses stones. Basically, a stone expresses one's body weight. For example, a 120 pound person would be about an 8 stone individual because 1 stone = 14 pounds. I've included a link to Wikipedia which has more exact information on it.

Best wishes!

1 stone equals 14 pounds. Multiply the number of stones by 14 and that's how much they weigh.

According to wikipedia:

The stone is a unit of weight and mass. It is part of the Imperial system of weights and measures used in the British Isles, and formerly used in most Commonwealth countries. It is equal to 14 pounds avoirdupois, and to 6.35029318 kg.

Eight stone make a hundredweight in the Imperial system.
