Well, we have too many dividing lines within humanity.

Religions, races, and borders are all things that are used to define our differences rather than focus us as being one thing... people.

Churches and Politicians define these differences every day. They all like to dictate how much they want unity and the brotherhood of man. Notice the differences however, it's "The brotherhood of man under God"... In History, Napolean called for a united Europe under French rule...

In the case of the Fundamental Racists often mask themselves as Civil rights leaders. We've all seen these people. In a recent example, Al Sharpton spoke out against radio host Don Imus, and caused a ruckus about one distastefull quote. Within that week he publicly declared 3 Duke lacross players rapists. Imus did appologize to those he offended, Sharpton has not done anything to retract his statement about the three boys, never proven guilty.

Some see these as good things, and in ways all of these things are positive as well. Often people do not think of the negatives. All you can do is live your life with an open mind. Don't see people as Black or White, Muslim or Jew, American or Iraqi, or any thing else. Choose to see people as one thing, people, and be sure to teach the same to your children one day.

when you have three religions in the same area and each one claims to be the absolute literal word of god, and instructs its followers to destroy non-believers and heretics, you will not have peace. There are passages in the bible, torah and koran that plainly instruct followers to kill and enslave followers of other religions.

We can live in a quiet place full of love and peace as soon as we realize that we shouldnt let 2000 year old books tell us what to do.

Because too many people want to judge others for their beiefs and believe that theirs is the only true religion. Although I dont see what one's religious beliefs has to do with anyone else.

As-Salaamu Alakium (peace and blessings be upon you),

The Quran tells us too.

109:6 "Unto you, your moral law/Religion, and unto me, mine!"

60:8 As for such [of the unbelievers] as do not fight against you on account of [your] faith, and neither drive you forth from your homelands, God does not forbid you to show them kindness and to behave towards them with full equity:for, verily, God loves those who act equitably.

Islamic teachings instruct the Muslims to respect and cooperate with the followers of other religions and treat them equally provided they reciprocate the same feeling.
In the Qur’an special attention has been given to the people of the Book that is Christians and Jews, because their religions are based on the heavenly book, Torah and Bible.

29:46 And do not argue with the followers of earlier revelation otherwise than in a most kindly manner - unless it be such of them as are bent on evildoing and say to them: “We believe in that which has been bestowed from on high upon us, as well as that which has been bestowed upon you: our God and your God is one and the same, and it is unto Him that We [all] surrender ourselves.”

Peace is with accepting GOD and his will and ALL the Prophets!

Because people are still selfish, no matter how much they claim otherwise. People will always try to dominate other people. Until we can stop acting like children, there will be no peace. Though it is something to aspire to.
