Mainly Catholic in the Republic, but lots of Protestants too, and a fair smattering of Muslims, Jews, Bahai, Hindu (not too many of those), some Hare Krishnas, Buddhists, and of course Pagans (including Wiccans).

All you need to know is that there is far too much religion in Ireland and not enough humanity.

The republic of Ireland is mostly Catholic 88.4%

Northern Ireland is more of a mix. 38.4% Roman Catholic, 21.4% Presbyterian, 17.7% Church of Ireland, and 3.8% Methodist.

I think you are referring to the 2 main denominations of Christianity that are there, Catholic and Protestant.
