YOU ARE THE MOST IGNORANT PERSON I HAVE EVER HEARD.

The governement has the obligation to protect its citizens. By privatizing the military, there would be no true standards that could be enforced. A private employer cannot offer the same law structure and control that the gov. can in order to create standards and discipline needed. Also yes, the pay might go up a little, but YOUR taxes would go up a lot more. Not only would you have to pay the soldiers, but you would have to pay the company or companies which manage it.

Also, it isn't all about pay. We want succes because we have so much to fight for. We are doing the best job that we can. What makes it difficult is the politicians and others who try to stand in the way of us doing what needs done and not supporting us.

We fight not for pay, but more than anything for freedom and the hope that our children will not have to fight the enemies that we face today. We fight for those too weak or cowardly to face the enemies that ultimately want us all dead.

Because privatization doesn't work. If the military was privatized, half the enlisted personnel would be laid off, the rest would ALL be paid so poorly they'd have to be on food stamps (as too many of them are now -- one would be too many), and the Generals would be paid $25 million a year -- for what?

You cannot run a government -- city, state or federal -- like a business, and you certainly can't run an army like one. Unless you want to lose.

The lottery is in accordance with success. regardless of if a psychic would desire to "see" the winning numbers, it relatively is different from they might get the winning cost ticket. and individuals are relatively clever, they know people who declare to be psychic are interest searching for loonies who use a means stated as "chilly examining" to dupe the plenty, or only declare to be psychic with out relatively reliable evidence or foundation. yet I digress. A psychic could no longer determine they have been given the winning cost ticket, regardless of in the event that they knew the numbers.

if winning a war was based on the amount of money one is paid all of the government workers would be standing in line to fight. congress funds the military by the way. under clinton the military was pretty much gutted as to funding in order to cut the number of gi's to a certain level. every president lobbys congress for military spending as to what strength he or she sees fit. would we have already won the war if we had an all mercenary force? i don't think so. it takes more than money as an incentive it takes pride in one's self and pride in ones country and strong leadership to win wars.

There is plenty of incentive. Its the politicians that are holding them back. Money has never been the deciding factor in performing the mission in the military.
