raised bump with a red ring around it. If so, get tested. Early infection is curable.

The ticks that carry Lyme disease are really small, like smaller than the head of pin. It's carried by deer ticks. If the tick was larger then it was probably not a deer tick, so not to worry so much.
Watch the place were the bite occurred, if it develops a red ring, bulls eye kind of pattern then get the blood test. A blood test is the only way to know for sure.

Well, if youre absolutely certain it was a tick, then go see your doctor because Lymes Disease is very serious and can be fatal. And its not the tick that has Lymes, its the person who got bit who can develop it. The best prevention against tick bites is to wear socks and shoes when walking thru high grass, etc.

If she starts feeling badly or has a fever in the next few days she could have Lyme. Also a reddish area will appear around the area where the tick was attached. There are several antibiotics that can help her, just be sure to check in with the doctor if you notice any redness or illness.

Keep the tick in a baggy if you can, and if she starts to get sick in the next few weeks then take her to the doctor along with the tick. They'll be able to do a test on it and see if that's what's wrong with her.

well if you are paranoid then a trip to your family doctor for the correct test wont hurt but the odds of cotracting that disease from a single bite should be enuff to keep her from freaking out . one in a million would be a safe number .

It sounds like your dog has contracted an infection after the removal of the tick. If you are concerned I suggest taking your dog to the vet to see if it's healing properly.
