There are so many places it's hard to pick just a few. It seems like you're interested in having fun more than the historical, sightseeing thing. I'd suggest you visit Greenwich Village--- there are lots of cool bars around. For some real fun I'd hop over to Brooklyn's Park Slope or Williamsburg ;-)

I live 10 minutes from Manhattan. Go to Jekyl & Hyde's. It's a multi-level bar with eats made up outside & in as a haunted house. Each level is part fun-house so that you get caught offguard by some crazy stuff.

definatly try to get into TRL and there are a lot malls like bloomingdales or something. also, go to this big cathedral. i 4got what it was called but you cant miss it. it is awesome...even if your not Christian. For good food, visit tiny stores or boutiques. they are not expensive and ten times better than those big restaurants. Have FuN!
