The best financing and all that depends on the dealerships in your area and your credit. It also helps if you have a good bit of money to put as a down payment - atleast $2,000, the more, the better. As for the "best" car you can get, factor in where you live - if it snows, get a car that can handle that, etc. And always get your vehicle from an actual dealership with a warranty - the new honda fit has some rave reviews & gets pretty good gas mileage & a little bit more room than a regular car, since I think you can fold over the back seat, so that's one to check out. But when you're looking, tell them that you're not looking to buy right away, you just need to test drive. Kias are also coming up in safety and quality. Check out your budget and see how much you can afford to pay ( an amount that won't break you & hopefully stay under $350/mo). But take your time, do some online research, make a list, test drive them, get back on yahoo answers, in the car section w/all your stats - how much you want to pay and what type of vehicle - sedan, sport, etc and post your questions.

The first thing you should decide on is the overall monthly amount you are willing to spend. This includes the monthly payment, the fuel cost and the cost to insure. I personally like the Toyotas as previously stated as well as the TC from Scion. But Toyotas have both great reliability and probably the best resale. The next thing is look for grey market dealers, these are dealers that deal primarily over the internet and give great deals. I took a printout of a deal to a local dealer and since it was $4,000 less than their sticker they had to atleast match it, and they did. Shop around and take your time. In the end, realize that they need your money more than you need their car.

Of course some type of sports car or off road capability vehicle would be just about everyone's pick for best if we could have the car of our dreams!! As far as an inexpensive, practical, low insurance, good mileage type of car, you can't go wrong with a Chevy Cavalier. I've had one for two years now. When I first got it, I bought it because it was cheap, but I basically hated it because it was so "average". I went from a Camaro (still have it, just have it parked because I can't afford the gas!)to this car. It was such a "step down" in my mind at first. Now I love it!! During this time of high gas prices, I'm able to go a lot more places (and have more money to other things than just buy gas!) because it gets such excellent gas mileage. I can go from my home (in Western PA) to visit friends in Vermont on only a tank and a half of gas, and it's 628 miles!!! So I say get a Cavalier!! (And they can be made into a cute sporty looking car by buying a kit or having an auto shop put decals, spoilers, nice rims, etc. on them!!)

I love my Scion XB. It is cute and it gets good gas mileage. They actually made this car specifically for young people. There is a fixed price and a fixed interest rate which means that the dealer can't rip you off. You can also customize it for a little extra. If you have any questions about the XB just contact me. Hope this helps!

I like Toyota, they have reliable cars and they do their very best for you. I just recently purchased a toyota and I love it. No problems whatsoever. I had a Nissan Sentra for 5 years I highly recommend that car. Very good on gas and lasted forever

Your best bet is to buy the Consumer Reports Magazine, (new car editon) it highlights all the good and bad so you can make an informed decision.
