Um, Toyota has a good reputation, but Scion does not have that same reputation. May still be good, but you cannot assume that because it was built by Toyota that it is just as good. Scion was built as an affordable entry level vehicle to attract young drivers. Affordable being the key word. I am sure it is still a good vehicle, but not up to the same quality as other Toyotas.
I have no recommendation, I just wanted to clear up the idea that Toyota is good, so Scion must be just as good. Their xa got quite a few complaints, and I don't know one person who owns one that recommends it or would buy another scion product.

Personally I'd go with the new Lancer, but the RX8 is classic sports car beauty and will turn heads like no other.
And in response to Jay P, Obviously you have never seen or known anyone that owned a 1986 F150 that has over 300K miles, or a Chevy Astro that reached a million and GM traded the owner a brand new vehicle of his choice for it. Reliabilty all depends on the owner in my opinion. If I had a second car that I drove 50 miles a week and kept in a garage every day, it would last 15 years too. just becuase it says Honda doesn't mean it won't be in the shop more than once sorry.

first, cross off the scion. they are just average vehicles that are easy to customize.
the mazda rx-8 has a rotor engine. the good thing about this is that the car will run off less output saving you gas. the bad thing is that the rotor engine burns oil quickly and has a tendency to leak oil. in the long run this could cause major problems. also there aren't too many rotor engines out there so most shops don't know how to work on them too well.
the mitsubishi lancer is a cool, quick car. they are kinda pricy though. but if i were gonna pick from these three i would pick the lancer because: it has good fuel economy, is very fast, and easy to maintain. its only flaw is that the ride is a tiny bit bumpy due to a weak suspension. no major problem though.

I would probably get either the tC or the Lancer as both are fuel efficient, relatively affordable (especially when compared to the RX8) and still (at least for the tC) fun to drive.
Between the 2, I'm leaning towards the tC because it's built by Toyota, which has a proven track record. Mitsubishi has been hit or miss for a while, and there hasn't been a lot of reliability data out there for the redesigned Lancer.

well first of all decide on thing?
Is this right for me? Im I an experianced driver?
IT DEPENDS ON HOW YOU WILL USE IT!!!!!!!!!!
IN my opinion i think the mitsubishi lancer and The Mazda RX-8 are the best choices.
Mazdas are lighter then mitsubishi, too.
Also decide on how much you will drive it.

It's a big financial decision. Maybe worth buying the "Consumer Report" for those cars.
I would get the one with the best gas mileage and best warranty.
