The answer is yes indeed. Througout human history many wars have been started by religious fanatics who believe that somehow they have the power to change the future away from God's plan as outlined in Scripture and Gospel. Actually in doing so they bring about fulfillment of God's plan.
This is very evident in presesent world conflict.

A few, if any, actually believe the Bible as a whole is God's perfect word, but the pertinent question is, “Are any any religions promoting terror out of obedience to the Bible? The answer to that is a resounding NO! Absolutely no one has killed someone in seeking to promote the Christian faith or defend of it, and no one can. Despite the attempts of a few who are ignorant of Biblical hermenuntics (who must resort to a parable or one passage taken out of context, or O.T. passages that are no longer literally applicable), no Scripturally substantiated case be made under the New covenant for using physical war in it's battles. Thus the Roman Catholic (not Christian ) crusades and inquisitions relied on ignorance of the Bible, which public knowledge of was repressed.

As for Old Testament, wars that were Divinely sanctioned were never universal, but limited to specific local nations. This is contrast to the Quran (Koran), which clearly broadly promotes religious wars, and (at best) lacks the context necessary to relegate all it's exhortations to slaying the unbelievers to simply physical defensive wars or those of retaliation, and at worse promotes universal bloody “Jihad” against all the enemies of Islam.

But even more destructive (and in response to a certain poster on this thread) is the “religion,” or belief system of atheism, which has no transcendent proven morality, but must rely on man's ever morphing morality of what is right,. Thus atheism's legacy, in addition to a few rock stars, has been mass murderers like Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and atheistic Communism, etc. Which men and madness, despite whatever pretense they might have made of religion at times, acted consistent with the bottomless pit of atheistic morality, which truly has no foundation except that which individuals deem right in their own mind, and are pridefully intolerant of any opposition to them.

However, in calling me to follow Him, Christ exampled Divine love, righteousnesses and justice, and brought souls to seek the same, and then gained redemption at His own expense and holiness, that of His death on the cross, for those who choose Him over sin. Praise the Lord!

We believe that the original manuscripts were inspired and inerrant. If you want the truest version, learn Greek and Hebrew. The best translation of the English Bible is the King James Version which is translated "Word for Word" as opposed to more recent Bibles which are translated "Thought for Thought". Basically, that means that the more recent translations are translated to make more clear what the original writer was trying to say. These new translations were oversaw by many theologians, however, they are not inerrant and as scholarly as they might be, they are still prone to error at some point. That is why a word for word translation, while harder to understand at first, inevitably is closer to the original manuscripts which are infallible.

This is a different perspective on the issue. Actually it is pretty perceptive, though slightly flawed.

Those 'religions' do not believe that the bible is the word of God. They truly believe that it is wrong and what they may follow represents truth. But you are they do bring about the fulfillment of God's plan.

Religions that promote terrorism have their own set of beliefs and holy books. These religions don't believe in the Holy Bible or the Christian God because they have their own holy book and god to pray to. Such in Islam- the Muslims have their God, Allah and their holy book of Koran. So don't connect terrorist groups with the Holy Bible.

the judeo-christian god, and the islamic god are one and the same. muslims believe jews and christians to both be people "of the book". they just feel that god's final prophet was muhammed and that the quran is god's last word, so to speak. it's the ignorance of christians to just dismiss muslims as not being related to their religion that has caused alot of the hatred and misunderstandings of this whole mess. ALL religion is wrong, ALL religion teaches hate, ALL religion kills others for not agreeing with it.

Let me mention just a few verses from the Old Testament and New Testament and tell me what do you say about them:

“When the LORD your God brings you into the land where you are entering to possess it, and clears away many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and stronger than you. And when the LORD your God delivers them before you and you defeat them, then you shall utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them and show no favor to them. (Deutronomy 7:1-2)

“When you approach a city to fight against it, you shall offer it terms of peace. If it agrees to make peace with you and opens to you, then all the people who are found in it shall become your forced labor and shall serve you. However, if it does not make peace with you, but makes war against you, then you shall besiege it. When the LORD your God gives it into your hand, you shall strike all the men in it with the edge of the sword. Only the women and the children and the animals and all that is in the city, all its spoil, you shall take as booty for yourself; and you shall use the spoil of your enemies which the LORD your God has given you… Only in the cities of these peoples that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, you shall not leave alive anything that breathes (Deuteronomy 20:10-17)

Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves. (Numbers 31:17-18)

Even in the New Testament we read the following statements attributed to Jesus saying to his disciples:

“I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence. (Luke 19:26-27)

"Do not think that I have come to send peace on earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword. I am sent to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law" (Matthew 10:34-35)

these verse speak for themselves and the history of those who believed in these verses from crusaders to Colonilizers , the people to ever use an atomic bomb, etc...

I believe you are confused, present world conflict, i.e. terrorism, is being promoted by the koran, not the bible.
