I hear it's "wooster." Is that correct? What do you think?

If you are from Massachusetts, you would call it:

"wuster" -- a shorter vowel sound than the "oo."

Wooster is correct. And by the way, it's Gl - o - ster, too. Short "o".

You would say it as if it were spelled like this: Werster. Depending on dialect. I've heard Boston natives say it like this and like your way.
I know, Worcester seems like a lot more syllables than you actually pronounce. Just one of those weirdly spelled English words. Kind of like the city of Gloucester, also pronounced in the same fashion: Gloo-ster or Glow-ster.

The one in eastern MA is pronounced WUH stah. The vowel in the first syllable is like the one in book, the one in the second, like stuck.
