Ok not buns but bread. I use an upper rack on the oven but not the topmost rack because I am afraid that the bread will rise too much and stick to the top of my oven. Do you think that a metal baking sheet under the loaf pan would help? And if it would help should I put it directly under it or on the lower rack. Any advice will help thanks!

Ok those are great ideas but do I put the pan directly under it or on the lower rack?

I sure would like to bite into some nice soft buns slathered with butter.

If your buns are burning on the bottm, then the baking sheet sounds like a good idea to help diffuse the heat.

Also, is your oven thermostat set properly?
You can reduce the temperature 25 degrees without effecting the recipe too much.

I use silicon, too. I had usually start checking anything that I'm baking at about 1/2 the suggested cooking time. Also, try reducing the heat that you cook at by 25 degrees. I love the silicon because it cooks so fast, but I did ruin a couple of dishes before figuring this out.

Why not just get a bread machine? Why so complicated?
