you don't really have to lose pounds, just inches. tone and tighten and you'll be wearing smaller clothes. I'm not losing weight, but I am wearing a size smaller because I'm exercising. just a couple inches overall is needed.

Since dress sizes aren't standard, it's hard to say. I lost 35 lbs and went from 12s and 14s to a 7/8.

What matters more than pounds, is inches. You may tone up your muscles but only lose a very few pounds and be able to get into a smaller size...where someone who weighs the same as you, but is untoned, may have to wear a larger size because fat weighs less than muscle but takes up more space.

exactly 8 pounds equals one dress size. I remember while reading a fitness book. :)
