I think alot of these recipes are very good . I however make mine differently. I use Sweet and Hot Italian Sausage. I leave the links whole and bake them off in a hot oven, 375 degrees for one hour. I remove them and let them cool . I julienne multi colored peppers, if available, if not, I saute' julienne green peppers with red and white onions sliced thin. Add 2 tblsp of olive oil to pan, saute the vegetables until just soft. Add 3 tblsp minced fresh garlic and toss. Add 1 jar of your favorite Marinara Sauce, add some freshly chopped herbs, basil, italian parsley, 1/2 cup of parmesean cheese and bring to a small boil. Add Sausage to marinara mixture , cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Hope you enjoy this recipe, its delicious.

As matter of fact, I do.
You'll need:
1/2 a pound of hot or sweet italian sausage (link form)
2 table spoons of honey mustard
1 red pepper, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 green pepper, cut into bite-sized pieces
Prep: Dice the sausage into 1/2 inch thick pieces. Preheat your broiler. Line a baking sheet with your sausage pieces, dab each piece with a little honey mustard. Broil for 3-5 minutes, or until edges brown slightly. Top each sausage piece with a red or green pepper (or both), and return to broil for another minute or two. Removed, cool slightly, then serve. This is an appetizer, or a party finger food. Add something hearty to it, and serve as a side.
Enjoy!

Sausage
2 large onions, sliced into rings
2 green bell peppers, sliced
1 red pepper, sliced
2-3 TB extra virgin olive oil
2 heaping tsp minced garlic
2 TB dry Italian spices mix
Oh yeah !! Cut up your sweet sausage. Slice onions and peppers. Pour a couple TB of olive oil into a large skillet, set heat on medium high. Add minced garlic (you can buy it in a jar or mince fresh). Saute garlic, stirring, until light, light brown. Add Italian spice mix. Add peppers and onions and saute until tender. Stir frequently. Meanwhile, place sausage pieces in a pan and fill with water half way up the sausage. bake in oven set at 350 for about an hour. Remove from oven, drain off all water and toss in with the pepper mix. Stir it all up and you are ready to eat!

This ones not fast, it's a slow cooker recipe but it's good.
Take your sausage cut into bite size pieces, add a package of frozen tortellini, a green pepper and a jar of spaghetti sauce, let it cook all day on low. Make's a great dinner!

Make a frittata! In large ovenproof (nonstick also) skillet, cook veggies such as diced onion, a little garlic, and then add crumbled cooked bacon, ham (whatever!). Beat 6-8 eggs with S&P, herbs such as parsley, and some parmesan cheese. Pour into skillet over veggies/meat. Cook on medium until bottom is lightly browned (do not mix--this will be like an egg 'pancake'). Place under broiler until the top is cooked and lightly brown. Slide out of skillet onto cutting board or large plate and cut into wedges using a pizza cutter or knife. Serve with green vegetable or salad. Leftover wedges make a tasty sandwich.

I actually got a bag in the freezer section of sliced bell peppers..multicolors...for only 97 cents in the veg section of hy vee the other day..18 ounce bag...great deal...
I would take the sausage add a bit of water..and steam with lid on for about 5 minutes, then add onions..can get in freezer section also..currently cheaper then fresh, and the pepppers..
cook with lid off til nice and brown sausage and tender veggies, put it in a nice roll bun..and enjoy..sound good..i like some spiced mustard or horseradish with mine

Slice up the sausage. Slice up the pepper (red and green are great!) Slice up some onions too. Cook them all up together in a pan. Serve over rice! :)

I like to take brats & lay each one in the center of a piece of foil. Layer over sliced onions, peppers, & mushrooms then add a little garlic powder, salt & pepper. Add a couple of small pats of butter on top, then seal into packets. Bake @ 350 - 375 for about 30 - 40 minutes......I like to serve on good hogie rolls w/mustard......Yummy!!

Slice the sausage in half with a wet serated knife. Then grill the sausage. That is the only way to get the sausage to cook any quicker.
