you need to attend to your studies. that is the first and fore-
most important thing going on for you right now. at the same
time it is also important to keep your word. what i think you
should do is have a short chit chat with your friend and let
that person know that you need to cram for an exam and
that the get together needs to get cut a little short and next
time you can extend the get together... i am sure he/she
will understand... if you do not say anything that person
will not know what is going on.... good luck on your test
and take your time.....

Ok, you have to study, but you also have to eat. If at all possible let your friend know of your dilemma. You really need to study, especially if it's an important test. Reschedule your lunch with her and as a compromise, see if she'll go with you to pick up lunch so you can eat while you study, or grab a really quick lunch with her. If your friend doesn't understand your need to study, then she's not a very good friend.

if the test is coming up soon and u really Need to study, ask ur frend for a raincheck. She shud understand that studies come first because if u dont study u can fail and this is ur future. Then some other time, take ur frend out and make sure u thank her for understanding about the study session.

You can either apologize and tell her that you're sorry but you feel like you need to spend that time studying because you have a big test and you feel like you cant spare anytime and offer a nother time to join her.
Or you can grab a quick bite with her and then tell her you must leave to study.
Or you can offer her to come over and eat with you and she can help you study or meet at a place that's quiet so you can eat and study.

Study for your test. Is your friend going to reimburse you for having to take the class again if you fail the tests.

Explain to her that you have a big test coming up that is really important. Ask her if she wouldn't mind going out to lunch with you after your test. Hopefully she will understand
