yeah thats pretty normal. My 18 month old daughter usually takes 2 naps, one in the morning and one in the afternoon that are 1 1/2-2 hours. If she misses her morning nap, she will nap 3-4 hours in the afternoon. Your daughter is more than likely more mobile now and is tiring herself out more during the day.

Your daughter should be taking 2 naps a day until the age of 2 then 1 nap a day until the age of about 7

Yes, my youngest did since that age until around 3, she is probably growing. Does she still take an AM nap?? If that has recently been cut, she may just be extra tired and if it is not affecting her bedtime I would not worry about it.
My youngest puts 110% of herself into anything she does, and has since she was able to move, she just really needs her sleep when she finally gives in, it could be the same thing, or sometimes my kids sleep and eat a lot when they are in a growth spurt.

I think it is! My daughter is 13 months and takes 3 hour naps on the weekends. This is after sleeping 12 hours every night! But my daughter is in daycare during the week and naps very little there so I think she is playing catch up.

Anyway, let her naps. Babies tend to sleep as needed and as long as she still sleeps well at night, you are in good shape.

Best,
DN

my twins are almost 3 and they still sleep almost 3 hours a day. all my kids have always taken good naps and still gone to bed good at night.

as long as she is going to bed good at night i wouldn't worry. if she is taking too long to fall asleep at bed time i would start waking her up a little earlier.

did she recently stop taking 2 shorter naps? my kids took longer naps in the afternoon if they didn't get a nap in the morning.

Provided she is alert and well while she is awake, and this isn't interfering with her night time sleep, I'd say she needs it. Nature has a way of regulating these things. Make the most of her when she's awake, and the peace and quiet when she is asleep.

You should be so grateful that she is sleeping so much and giving you a much deserved break, I think that is fine, maybe she is going through a growth spurt or something. If you are truly concerned then ask your doctor, but I am sure she is fine.

If I were you, I would wake her after 2 hrs. Right now this is what my 2 yr. old takes. She gets tired form all the playing. I am sure it isn't abnormal to sleep that long, but better be safe.
