Thanks for the answers I know asking that may cause a risk of the professional breeders My intention was not to bread my dog I just wanted to know how long i should keep her in a shorter leash when we are out. But thanks for the warning anyways.

From the first day of their heat cycle they are usually able to be bred by the male in the second week, normally when the bleeding tapers off to a straw colored discharge. Although some dogs do get bred in the very beginning or closer to the end. If you do not want your dog bred keep it confined until it's whole cycle is done. The female will not let the male mount it until she is ovulating and ready to be bred.
Also you are going to get a lot of nasty answers on here from the other "breeders" it seems to be an exclusive right to only a few, but if you want to breed your dog be responsible about it make sure your female is healthy and the puppies get their shots when they are 6 weeks. Good luck.

Dogs are typically in heat for three weeks. They CAN become pregnant pretty much anywhere in that span, depending on the dog. Most females won't accept a male until sometime around the beginning of the second week and will usually continue to accept him for the duration of that week, possibly into the beginning of the third week.

I have heard of puppies conceived on day 5 all the way through day 26... As a general rule if there has not been any swelling or discharge for several days you are probably safe but to be 100% give it a week before you let her near a male unsupervised.

the dog can get pregnant if she done it about 5-6 times that day about two weeks later.
