Explain to me why the glass doors on microwave ovens are shielded with a microwave resistant coating?!?!?!

That coating is to make sure that a dangerous level of microwave energy can not leak out through that glass.

Most have a fine metal screen to shield the energy from getting out. If u get radiated for some reason possible the safety switch didn't shut it down when u open the door ,U would be blind very soon.

Simply to shield the user and the environment in close proximity to the oven, from radio frequency radiation.
