Boil the broccoli in hot water for a couple minutes. Drain the broccoli. Heat a skillet with oil. When the oil turns hot, throw in the garlic and onions. Make sure you constantly stir the garlic and onions, otherwise it will burn and taste bitter. When the onions turned translucent, toss in the broccoli. Add salt and pepper to taste or other seasonings. Don't cook it too long, otherwise the broccoli will get soft.

Blanch the broccoli in boiling, salted water for one- two minutes, then shock it in ice cold water to lock in the bright green color. Combine 1 tbsp each, olive oil and butter in a saute pan. Put in the onion, when it has cooked for a couple of minutes, add the garlic and broccoli. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the broccoli is crisp-tender. The color should still be a bright green. Season as you go with salt and pepper.

Take a head of broccoli and trim off stems, then rinse & drain on a paper towel. In wok or large skillet, heat a little olive oil, then add a couple of cloves of minced garlic and one onion sliced. Sprinkle a little salt & fresh ground pepper. Sautee for about 5 minutes or til garlic starts to carmelize. Add some butter & broccoli, then stir fry over low for about 5 minutes.......Goes great with rice!!

For frozen broccoli:
SAUTEED BROCCOLI
1/4 c. olive oil
1 clove garlic
1/2 diced onion
2 pkgs. frozen broccoli spears
Pinch of basil and oregano
Parmesan cheese to taste
Saute garlic and onion in olive oil until lightly browned. Add frozen broccoli spears, basil and oregano. Stir occasionally on low heat until broccoli is tender. Add a dash more olive oil if needed. Season with Parmesan cheese.
For fresh broccoli:
I would trim up the broccoli and steam it lightly first or at the very least blanch it (it's hard to get it cooked right with just sauteeing), then drain.
Add a drizzle of olive oil to a hot skillet, saute diced onion and garlic til soft (while stirring), add broccoli and toss through infused for a minute or two more.
Serve with fresh squeezed lemon juice or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
Enjoy!

place some butter in your pan then add your ingredients and saute ! saute is just a light "fry". make sure you don't have your heat too high or your butter and garlic will burn.
enjoy
