I had a stereo put in at Best Buy in my '92 Integra. I'm thinking now about buying new rear speakers. When I look at the old one's, there is a capacitor soldered onto the terminals. Is that OE or did Best Buy put them there? (I think I remember him saying something about speaker protectors...is that what they are?) And do I need to put them on any new speakers that I might buy??

They're the "speaker protectors"; also sometimes known as "bass blockers". Basically they're just a very simple crossover filter; they cut off deep bass from the speakers.

Personally I'd remove them; they're not all that effective in any case, and I don't think they're necessary when used with a 6 1/2" or 6x9" speaker. Their main function in your vehicle is to provide Best Buy with a little bit more money.
