I swear my dog thinks he is human sometimes!! he will follow you around walking on 2 legs!
He has NEVER injured himself doing this. we got a puppy about 2 months ago and it has learned this from the older dog they are adorable!
For Chewy it can natural to walk but I taught him to dance using treats while he was walking so I'm sure that might work for you too!
Love your pet! Pandora, Chewy & Jasper

Not all dogs can do this it depends on the body type and weight of the dog.
If your dog naturally goes up on to two feet then you can teach them it walk or bounce step when in that position. by encourage first little movements and then by requiring more before they are rewarded.
My dog will now do two full spins on her hind legs for a treat and bounces backwards on her hind legs for about 6' for her supper.
She is a Keeshond which is one of the Spitz type breeds that are well structured for this but she is the first of 6 of that breed that showed any natural instinct for being on her hind feet with out a balance point.
The disadvantage of teaching this is that when they get really good they become able to steal food off the table without even touching the table.

You could teach it as a trick ONLY. Dogs bodies were designed to walk on 4 legs, and they can only walk on 2 as a trick. Imagine if you were made to walk on all fours. You could do it, and for the rest of your life, but it would take a lot of getting used to and practice to not accidentally stand up. People were designed to walk on two legs, and it'd feels awkward to walk on all fours all the time. Conclusion? Yes, but only as a trick.

I had a dog who could do this on both sets of legs. I dunno exactly how she figured it out .. I think her ears were so huge it weighed her head down enough to just work.
I taught my other dog to do it using treats. I got him to sit up and then moved backwards with the treat. Eventually he learned to follow forward and backward and even move his front legs like he was hula dancing.

Get them in a sit position and lift the treat. When he falls toward you hold hand back to show him how to steady his balance.
