I can't see the problem I believe that, as a Christian,
1)because of the blood of Christ, I am going to Heaven.
2) the Holy Spirit is around today, just as He was in the days of the early church so that the gifts he gave then are just as much for today. Speaking in tongues, Healing, Prophecy, Interpretation etc are all needed today. When Christ returns for His church(the Rapture) & the Holy Spiritis withdrawn from the earth, then people will notice the difference. Hope this helps

Dear Alex,
Eternal security of the believer is a truth from the Bible. The charismatic gifts-speaking in tongues, visions, healing, etc are no longer in operation. Now there are some that would say these gifts are still in use today but that is not true.
For example, tongues, if they were in operation today would violate Revelation 22:18, 19. The Bible is complete-God is no longer adding to His word. Visions are included in this because a vision requires an explanation by God and God is not adding to His word.
If you consider "healing", why don't the faith healers go into a children's hospital or a cancer ward and heal all the individuals there? The bodies we are in get old and die. The most important thing is salvation through Christ. One can be terminally ill, but if he is saved, the person will speand eternity in the highest good. This is exactly the lesson Jesus taught in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus.

Eternal security is not a Biblical idea, and it will not get more Biblical just by adding charismatic gifts to it. Take a look at Galatians 5:19-21. Paul doesn't say "those who do these things will not inherit the kingdom of God, unless they are Christians who are eternally secure."

If you are not too preoccupied with your own reasoning and are willing to subject yourself to various teachings you will find
the answers you seek without too much trouble.
Charismatic gifts have nothing to do with Eternal Security.

Eternal security is correct........and accurate.
However...I do question the authenticity of the gifts that some people abuse today. I do not speak in tongues nor do I believe that it is for today.

The bible is anything but accurate, so the concept of biblical accuracy is void.
