This is a true story:

My brother's friend has ferrets, and she was walking them one day. An elderly man said, "What are those?" and she said "Ferrets." He acted so surprised and exclaimed, "No way! those are parrots!?" So she says, "No, Ferrets! You know, like weasels!" And he said, "Those are EAGLES???!"

I don't know if this counts, exactly, but my husband used to go to church with an elderly man he respected very much. He was a country gentleman and he was showing Jim around his farm. Along with his horses and such, the man had cats in his barn.

Jim noticed that the man had kitty litter all over the floor of his barn, so he asked the man about it.

The gent said, "Kitty litter? No wonder they won't eat the stuff!"

You'll need to understand that my wife is Russian for this.

She had a new cell phone with a number that's one digit away from a pizza place's. Most people understood that they got the wrong number. One woman didn't. She decided that the problem was my wife being foreign and not "understanding English."

Well, you know how obliging I am, and since she so desperately wanted to hear an American voice, I gave her one. I told her I was the manager and "took her order." And then my wife promptly turned off her phone.

The next morning, she had three messages with 16 instances of the f-word!

RMAOL. That was funny. My cousin had gone to Luby's. She asked the waitress for a to go container and the lady came back with water. My cousin said no, I asked for a to go container. Then the lady kept saying, water? tea? The lady didn't speak good english. It was funny when my cousin told the story, but it's not as funny as yours.

Another one dealt with people not using spellcheck. My friend is a recruiter and she was reviewing resumes. She came across one resume that stated in the object field: "I'd like a job where I can utilize my skills working in a whorehouse". No lie. That was funny as heck! She and her co-workers still talk about that one.

Ahem! Making fun of grandpa? Baad but funny.

Joke works as he was not only hard of hearing but near blind...couldn't see a ferret looked different than a parrot or eagles...Hmn! both with feathers. May be grandpa was a bird watcher.
