I would first like to say that I enjoy your fishing techniques and bait recipes. I would like to add a few recipes and tricks I have learned through the years fishing. Following is a few basic baits I have had success with.
bucket steak
bluegill heads
chicken livers
the trustworthy night crawler (if you can keep the bluegills off of it)
soft-shell crawfish
(pieces of panty hose works well for all types fragile and soft bait when trying to keep it on the hook. It also keeps the unwanted fish from robbing your bait.)
Above are the basic baits, however I have a couple of interesting recipes and tricks that I use most often....
Drain the blood from a container of chicken livers into a mason jar. Next put 4-8" minnows into the same jar. There should be enough blood so that the minnows can soak in the blood. Tighten the lid on the jar and let it sit in the sun until it stinks really bad but not so bad you can't stand to bait your hook with it. Now put the minnows on your hook and you are ready to catch the big ones. (I know this sounds disgusting and weird but it works great!)
Put two miniature marshmallows on your hook (color of marshmallow doesn't matter) run them all the way to the top of the shank. Then put a night crawler or two on. Use this with a slip sinker and the marshmallows make the worm float off of the bottom. Marshmallows also add color. Try experimenting with the height off of the bottom and also a little jigging motion. (Be careful not to throw off your marshmallows when casting.)
Catch a few hog suckers with a minnow net. Put a slip bobber on without a stopper on the upper end. Hook the hog sucker in the tail end. The hog sucker will be able to swim freely and will go to the bottom with all of the line you allow it to have. Without the stopper on the upper end of the bobber it makes it hard to know when you have a hit. It takes a little practice, but if you keep a little tension on the line you will get to know the difference of the movement in the hog sucker and a hit. (The hog sucker is a bottom feeding fish that is a ugly brown color with black blotches on its back. The size you should use depends on the size of the body of water you are fishing and the size of fish you are trying to catch. I use about a 7" fish and catch healthy catfish)
These baits and techniques have worked great for me and I hope you take the time to try it.
Or
Ingredients:
*Flour
*Bread
*Water,soda,......whatever desired
*Bowl
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients in bowl. If it feels too sticky, add more flour. Add any other meat, liver, etc. to get best effect. Let sit until tender enough to stay on hook. Then go fishing!
Hope my recipes work.
Good fishing

I have not been freshwater cat fishing before. However, I have looked through certain things and have came to the conclusion that you should take some fish such as sardines (Make sure that they are dead) stuff them with some cheese (Blue cheese would probably work the best because there is mold in it) (Check to make sure that it is legal to use cheese as bait where you live) Stick the cheese down through there mouths. Place them in a bowl of eggs and place some more cheese in the eggs. Cover the bowl with aluminum foil and put a few holes in the foil, put the bowl in direct sunlight for several hours (Try to make it 6 hrs at the least) And then they are good to go. BEWARE: THEY WILL SMELL AWFULLL!!!!! LOL!!! Good luck fishing.

here is a good bait for Carp and some catfish
But it takes a few ingredients. Get some ground troutchow . A box of sugar pops (cereal) and they make a strawberry flavoring , mello fruit, butternut are also my favorites . Get the troutchow wet it with water and some flavoring . get it wet enough just to make a loose doughball. Put a sugar pop on your hook. Form a large doughball around your hook , Over the sugar pop with the troutchow. Cast out and let sit. The troutchow will dissolve in the water putting off scent and exposing the sugar pop . the carp cannot resist that and will suck up the sugar pop and run with it.
If you cannot find the strawberry flavoring it will work with out it. And catfish chow will take the place of trout chow also
Also you can use millet and Karo syurp and flavoring to make a dough ball
And cooked rice and flavoring also makes a good bait but be sure to make a tight enough ball around the sugar pop to cast it but loose enough to crumble away on the bottom exposing the sugar pop

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://biturl.im/aU6hY
The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

Well i am always testing out new stuff for cats and i have caught a couple 15-17 lb cats by placing slices of sardines into well beaten eggs and leaving it outside with some aluminum foil taped around it with some holes poked in the top using a bobby pin for a day or two. it will smell AWFUL but it worked pretty well.
good luck
