Not for long:

I just answered this same question several times today.

It seems that not a hour goes by without someone on here wanting to: lose a large amount of weight in a short time, not change their lifestyle, want a magic remedy, want to know if different diets have magical effects. There are some people on here giving VERY BAD and even dangerous advice. When you point that out to some people they get angry. There is lots of good advice out there but people try to latch onto the bad. All of these people asking questions already have very good sources for answers to the questions they are asking. But its' not what they want to hear.

There IS NO MAGIC in weight loss.

Instead of spending your hard-earned cash on unproven claims, or a dangerous “diet” that may ruin your health or make it harder for you to lose weight in the long run, spend some time learning about the simple ingredients of a healthy lifestyle: eat a balanced diet that's low in fat and exercise regularly.

You will lose a little - definitely the water weight. But it's not a good idea to go so low - it works against you. Your body will cling to those 500 calories you give it. Lifting doesn't really burn calories fast, but jump rope is a good way. I'd do it with say 1400.

for one, yes chewing your food well before swallowing does help a lot.. as it already begins digesting there.. but other things you should try is an exercise called stomach vacuum.. it should help you lose inches of your waist and relatively fast. Also start doing weights (if you are a woman or male, it doesnt matter) as you will gain some muscles which will tighten your overall appearance plus will speed up your metabolism, hence you will burn more fat even wile a sleep. And no, you will not look bulky, to get bulky you would need to really want that and eat an ridiculous amount of food.. we are talking 6000 calories or so a day.. so by far more than you are likely to consume.. doing weights alone doesnt make you bulky! it will give you a nice lean appearance:) and besides doing exercise also stick to a healthy and balanced diet.. don't cut back on your food too much either, as then your body adjusts to little food and burns it slower, hence as soon as you go back to eating a little more, you will gain more than you weighed before (or are very likely to) i hope this was useful

You will loose weight but you will loose more by eating a normal amount for your weight and exercising. By eating 500 calories this is considered anorexia nervosa and maybe a little exercise bolemia. Your body will enter a starvation phase and consume your muscle preferentially to fat. I recomend that you eat a normal amount (1300 cal for women is minimum and 1800 for men) and do a good combination of lifting and cardio. Both weight training and aerobic exercise burn mongo calories and the wightlifting will keep burning calories throughout the day unlike cardio. This will maximize fat loss and minimize muscle loss.

did you get fat quick? probably not. I'll take some time, probably at least as long as it took you to put it on to lose it.

500 calories is anorexic like amount of calories. Eat more 1500 for a month or so then cut back to 1200. I've never heard of reputable diet saying eat less than 1200 calories.

If you ONLY eat 500 calories / day - I doubt you'll have enough energy to lift weight and jump rope !!!

A normal adult male requires approx. 1300 - 1500 calories / day just to maintain the weight they are at.

I would suggest a balanced diet of around 1200 calories / day coupled with exercise and you should easily loose 1-3 pounds per week.
