What is the best way to tell my best friend (26) of three years that I (25) am in love with him? I was with another man when we first met and that set us in a just friends pattern that I don't know how to break. I have been single for almost two years and he has not been with anyone the entire time I've known him.

My bet is that he is also in love with you as well...often times a friendship turns into love...I would just go for it and tell him, he might be in the exact same place as you...it could damage the friendship if he does not respond the way you would hope but you can't go through life wondering...my wife and I have a similar story and we would have been together much sooner if she or I would have just spoken up... I would give a 90% vote of confidence that he is in love with you as well...oh to answer your question on "how to phrase it" just tell him that you know that you have been best friends for a while but that you are ready to move the relationship to the next level then take off your clothes there is no way he will say no then (just kidding with ya)

Tell him in a manner that doesn't make him feel guilty. Don't beg, or bribe him to go out with you. Don't act desperate! but seriously, even if telling him blows up in your face, you've got my respect. I know how hard it is to tell a friend you like him, and I made some of the mistakes I listed above when I did. so be careful! If he says no, drop it, and leave it dropped. If he changes his mind later, he already knows how you feel. pushing the issue will probably cause irreperable harm to your friendship! I can't stress it enough, be tactful, but not to vague. It's a really hard thing to do!

Just sit down with him sometime when you're hanging out. And tell him that there is something you really want to talk to him about. You could start with, you know how much I care about you right? Kind of a thing. And then tell him that you care in a deeper way than just friends.

just say can we talk openly and then you say you know I have cared deeply for you and I feel as tho I am falling in love with you he maybe involved with someone you know nothing about ask him how he feels about that and you I am sure do not want to lose him for a friend maybe he feels the same maybe he dont that way you will know.sometimes it changes a friendship and you lose all together good wishes to you.

tell him how u feel and see if he feels the same way as u about ur feelings. if he wants to take things further then go for it don't be shy but if he just wants to be friends then find some1 that will complete u.

Tell him (face to face) that you like him as more than a friend...and ask him if he thinks you could be more than a friend to him.
