I usually don't drink that much water...so my goal for this summer was to drink 8 cups a day. For the last two days, I have been doing so...but my stomach is huge! Will this go away or not?

Yes it will adjust, and for the better. Here are some tips:

1. Even though exercise is good, exercising on a water bloated stomach is not what you would enjoy. You'll get cramps, and if you haven't eaten anything, the acid in your stomach will start to annoy in the throat and maybe even mouth.

2. After drinking a lot of fluid you'll feel weird moving and jumping, and it may feel uncomfortable.

3. I've heard about water intoxication and hyponatremia. That is when you drink too much. Well, actually, it's when you drink too much too fast. Your kidney can process 15 liters a day, which is a lot, but over the whole day. So don't force yourself to drink glass after glass.

Yes it will go away, try drinking 6 glasses a day. 8 is obviously too much for your body. Water is toxic in large quanities try 6 that is what I have a day. 6-8ozs a day and over at least 12 hours not all at once.

While drinking alot of water is good for you, drinking too much water can also KILL you. Chinese saying "too much of anything is bad for you". make sure you are doing activities that cause you to sweat out the water, there is no point in drinking alot of water if all you are going to do is pee it out, alot of water is good for you if you keep yourself sweating, it flushes toxins out of your body, also since you are going to be drinking alot of water and sweating alot, you need to increase your intake of salt, since your body salt is depleted when you sweat, you also want to spread your 8 glasses of water across the entire day, and not all at once, or you will end up bloated like you are now.

try to drink 10 then get to 12... and when you get to 24 you come talk to me about being bloated

try spacing out your water intake through out the day...break it down into half cup incriments if you have to. its good to drink a lot of water but some people need more than others due to genetic factors, lifestyle, activity level...thing slike that. so experiment with the amounts you drink and time of day and all that.

it might a little bit, but the fact is, you'll still be quite bloated with this amount of water unless you exercise a lot.

Yes, your body will be getting used to it. BUT, slow down, don't just go from very little water to large amounts.
