Your vet will go through all the post-op care requirements with you but as I do this every day I'll give you a heads up :-)
Your dog has had an anaesthetic and will probably feel groggy for the rest of the day. Keep him quiet and give him somewhere to sleep it off! You can offer him food as normal but don't be worried if he doesn't want to eat today. He should be fairly back to normal by tomorrow.
He has stitches in his abdomen. These will be removed in 10-14 days time if they're not dissolvable - it needs to be leash walks ONLY for a couple of weeks, no running around! You might want to pick up an e-collar from your vets if you think puppy might interfere with the stitches - they mustn't pull on them of course, but licking is also bad because it introduces bacteria and might cause infection (though he should have had antibiotics). You might want to put an e-collar on at least overnight to be on the safe side.
Give any tablets your dog is prescribed of course, tho these are not always given out - at my place we give an antibiotic shot and a painkilling shot, these both last for 2 days which is fine.
Puppy should be completely himself after a few days, give your vet a call if you're worried about anything or have any questions, other than that he'll have his stitches out in two weeks and that will be that!

Dogs neuters are a really simple surgery and his recovery will probably be smooth. Make sure that you keep him from jumping up and down from high places and try to keep his activity level to a minimum this way he is less likely to open up those stitches. The only other thing is to look for signs of infection like redness and swelling that gets worse around the incision site, but he should be just fine and your vet will go over all of the discharge rules with you before you take him home. Good luck and thanx for having your pup neutered. We already have so many dogs that are in need of good homes.

My dog was just neutered not that long ago & he was back to his normal self after a few hours. We didn't let the kids rough house with him for a few days after the fact, but he was fine much sooner than that.
If you see any reactions or change in his demeanor after he is neutered that does not go away by the next day, you should definitely take him back to the vet to make sure something didn't go wrong.
Most surgeries done these days are laser surgeries that don't have stitches or much swelling. Best to find out because the aftercare will be different.

He will snap back pretty quick Don't let him jump up or down for at least a couple of days Keep the area clean don't let him lick or pull at the stitches if it is a problem the vet can give you those goofy plastic lampshade things the vet will probably give you an antibiotic and or pain meds for him But don't overly sweat it he will snap out of it quick probably by tomorrow he will be acting like nothing happened Puppy's deal with this surgery much better than an old dog

The Vet will tell you about aftercare. Be aware that there can be a lot of swelling in the next few days. So much so that you will wonder if he really has been done!
Don't worry. It is a very common procedure.
Good luck

The vet will surely fill you in on what to do. Just watch the stitches and make sure the incision doesn't swell and puss up. Ask the vet how long he wants you to leave the stitches in there, probably for a week to ten days. You can even snip them out yourself if all looks well instead of returning to the vet but if you don't know much about it its best to make the follow up visit. I hope all goes well with your puppies. I'm sure it'll be fine.

when i got my pup neutered, by the next day he had picked his stitches out so we had to bring him back to the vets to get a collar (which he hated). apart from that he was just a bit groggy and tired, just give your pup lots of love, but if he needs space just leave him be. good luck!

Don't let him run around or jump up for a few days & make sure he doesn't lick his wound or try to pull the stitches out.
The vet should give you after care instructions when you pick him up

Nothing really, just give the pain meds that the vet issued and check often for any signs of infection.
