It totally depends upon how many calories and how much exercise you do- AND if you do it the healthy way. Doing things right you should lose no more than 2 pounds per week so that is a 1000 calorie deficit per day. So if you take away 500 calories from your diet and do exercise worth 500 calories you will lose that 2 pounds. SO that means you will lose 10 pounds in about 5 weeks. The research is showing that people who have a SLOWER weight loss say 1 pound per week keep it off better.

It depends on your body type and your balance between calorie intake and calorie burn. To diet you should be burning more than you are taking in, that is when your body burns fat and you lose weight. Appropriate and safe diets should shed between one and two pounds per week. If you lose weight faster than that, it may be detrimental to your body and may also just be "water weight" which fools you into thinking that you have lost weight when it was just fluid loss making you dehydrated and makeing the weight very easy to gain back (one pint of water equals a pound of weight)... safely you could lose ten pounds in five weeks with diet and exercise.

Depends on the calorie reduction, the amount of exercise, and your metabolism. 3500 calories a pound
1-2 pounds a week is typical. Not drinking water, one can lose more, but you gain it back.
10 lbs in a week implies burning off 35,000 calories. That is possible for some athletes, but not most people.

I'm doing the same, more limiting calories than exercising. I've lost 8 lbs in 4 wks.
I used on online calculator to figure out my daily intake to maintain my weight and then subtracted 500 calories to get my new caloric intake. 3500 calories (supposedly) equals 1 lb so 500calories a day = 3500cal/wk = 1lb/wk
coupled with the excercising I've lost 2lb/wk
Also don't just think I decrease my intake by 1000 or 1500 calories per/day b/c that will backfire since your body will go into starvation mode and your metabalism will slow down causing it to be harder to lose weight.

It depends on the persons size and metabolic speed. I can lose ten pounds in three weeks. Yet if you truly watch your intake of carbs and calories, you could lose it faster. Exerciese very hard (run/job for an hour a day at least) you can lose much more...Yet be careful if you lose it too fast you body can go into a small shock, nothing major at all but you will feel very strange for a week.

It depends how much you eat and exercise. You have to burn about 35,000 more calories than you eat.
First, determine how many calories you need to eat every day to maintain your ideal weight. Don't drop too far below this because you'll mess up your metabolism, not get enough nutrition, and basically leave yourself open to getting less healthy.
Then, determine how many extra calories you burn with exercise. Be reasonable and allow your body time to recover, otherwise you'll hurt yourself and won't be able to exercise.
Good luck.

hey
i recently wanted to lose 10 lbs i went to dr bernstein clinice. This is some pointer you could consider, try eating body wise bread 2 slice toasted with light cream cheese, for lunch eat salad with light dressing, in the eveing eat chicken breast, or egg white or steak 6 oz. You could also try eating 6 boiled eggs with no york, no caffein, no pop, no chocolate, no chips, nothing that has fat and no alcohol (i hate this part). Also buy medication by the name of "Micro K", you need to take it 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. Swiss Multivitamens and Mineral Swiss One 50 Timed Release with B Vitamins and Lutein (once a day). This will certainly work if you don't cheat....good luck
IF you require more info you could certainly email me at mansibedi@yahoo.com.
good luck
