what good is a copy? She probably had the original which is much better to have. now attorney might keep them but 20 years ago they gave them back to the client.

Yes, the attorney should have a copy.
If the attorney has since retired, some other attorney has a copy.
If any problem locating the attorney, contact the County Bar assoc. They will tell you which way to go.
This is no problem. Lawyers deal with it very often.

Probably, but not for sure, if she hadn't been a client of that attorney in the meantime.
