Serves them right. How gaudy is a solid-gold, million dollar bathtub? And they didn't have any security cameras or anything?
I can't see that it could have been anyone but several of the employees. The thing had to weigh an unbelievable amount, and it would have taken several people quite a while, and it seems impossible that they wouldn't have been seen. They probably just wheeled it down the hall on a cart, and figured that if a guest had witnessed it, they probably would have just assumed that there was some re-decorating going on.

the only acceptable way to steal a bathtub is for one person to hold it up with no external help and be able to walk 4 steps. Once that is done, said person has the right to steal any bathtub in the world.
