in addition to Arthur O's answer i have found several [including the last 2 series i purchased]] to have a melt down on the back side of the lens [where the bulb sockets fit] i have purchased broken lamps from a salvage yard [cheap except for my time] and hot knifed the sections needed and glued the good section into the good lens. this is time consuming and tedious work but can save 170.00 dollars a side good luck . note: use super glue to tack and epoxy to hold

Yes they do. Corrosion in the light sockets is the major problem. Remove the bulbs and clean the sockets with electronic contact cleaner and a stiff brush. Blow out the crud. The c orrosion leads to poor grounding and usually turns on the "bulb out" indicator on the dash.
