It hasn't been validated scientifically! That's why it's called a "theory"! You did a splendid job contradicting yourself, though! :)
Just because astronomers have witnessed stars explode doesn't mean that the universe was created when a big, empty hole decided to fart & create everything we know. This THEORY was derived by people who simply didn't want to believe in the divinity of God. It is not proven, and never will be, no matter how hard you "evolutionists" flail & kick trying to make others believe. But, again, nice try! It certainly was a valiant effort!

The big bang theory "ie, the standard model of cosmology" is not rejected by all astronomers. In fact, I'm a physicist (in another branch), I know many astronomers, and I don't know any that believe anything else.
I wouldn't give LeMaitre credit for the big bang any more than I'd give Democritus credit for the atom. Well, a little more, but not too much. Gamow was the one who really put the theory together.

I find it so unimportant. It's not even on my radar for the list of important things. And that guy is not any father of mine, so . . . I never met him.
I believe in the Gap Theory of Genesis 1:1 - 1:2. All that is telling me is that the Earth can be older than 6000 years. I can believe in the Big Bang, but I really don't see a reason to.

WRONG!
It was never a Christian hypothesis - it was a scientific hypothesis, developed by a man who happened to be of the Christian clergy. It should be noted that he developed the hypothesis via real scientific models - not through divine inspiration or some other crap. And, it should be noted that he BEGGED the Pope at that time to NOT make the Theory an official Church dogma.

The entire religion of Christianinty is contradictory. For example, when you attend a Christian church, they tell you to put forth an offering (your cash) for God and Jesus (so that they can pay their taxes) and then they start quoting a bible verse about how Jesus tells the ppl not to be concerned with material things, and that material things don't matter. Explain that one. Christian belief changes when new scientific information is presented. Before the Big Bang Theory, Christians believed that God just created the world. After the theory, they believe that God made the Big Bang happen. It's just a matter of opinion.

Well, Christians don't really know everything about the big bang theory.
As a Christian myself, my friend & I asked God in prayer. God gave us understanding that when the fulness of God speaks (Elohim the Father, Word & Holy Spirit) that is very powerful and would sound like a big bang. (But not exactly like a big fart.) The Word of Elohim; Father, Word & Holy Spirit said... and it was created.
Also, the Word of God spoken in the faith of God. By faith God created everything also. So, that is how we come to spiritual birth also. Speaking in heart faith, the Lord Jesus Christ & atonement for sin & resurrection. That is why salvation is speaking in heart faith filled Words. Then one is born spiritually.

Figuring out why fundamentalist Christians (not all of us!) fight the battles they do is a big puzzle, but you are right to point out that the things they fight today are things they will accept tomorrow, and vice versa.

the big bang should be opposed because there is no need for the universe to exist as the result of one singularity event.

You really think that father thought about expansion/contraction of four dimensional space-time?
Let's hope he did.
And yes Big Bang is a scientifically validated theory. i.e. Fact.
