Yes and no. The egg yolk is high in cholesterol but it's also very high in lecithin. Lecithin is the natural amino acid that helps the body reduce it's cholesterol levels. In fact, most doctors will advise their patients that have moderatly high cholesterol levels to take lecithin suppliments. Lecithin is found naturally in egg yolk or soy beans. If you have high cholesterol, it's not the egg's fault. The egg will counter it's cholesterol affects on you with the amount of lecithin.

It does, but it is pretty minimum. It will affect people who already have high cholestorol. For the average Joe or gym goer, it is pretty safe. The egg yolk contain half the protein in an egg. I have eaten 6 to 8 eggs in a day before, and there is for a period of almost a year. Check my cholesterol, it is always in the healthy range. But note, I do exercise regularly as well. There are several studies on the benefit of eating the whole egg on the internet. Please do not be misled by old thinking of egg yolk is bad for you. This could not be more far from the truth, unless you already have high cholesterol to begin with.

Absolutely, the egg yolk is one of the highest in cholesterol, and most doctors recommend not more than two a week.

Not in moderation. In fact, if you eat the whole egg, part of the egg has a 'cholesterol antidote'.

They are always up and down with that one. NOW...... IT IS, eat eggs! Now they are saying that eggs have a "good" cholestrol in them that is absorbed naturally through the body so it doesn't matter how many eggs you eat, you'll be OK!
