Not all long answers are cut & paste ones. Otherwise, sometimes serious questions needs serious answers with proofs and quotes...And anyways, it is very easy to skip and scroll down the page and read the others answers.
Oh yes, it would be a sin if you give a low rate for an answer you didn't actually read.
Peace

No i do it ill admit. I like the short answers best a paragraph or two is fine but when they start to take the whole page then i do thumb down the answer to get to the others. It seems like most people do the same since the long ones always seem to have a lot of thumbs down.

OK! I confess! I have done that! I just get bored, Most times though I just pass by to get to the other answers. To bad though because there could be some good information in those long book length answers. I prefer shorter written from the real person answering type of questions.

I don't think it is a sin. Most of the long answers are just copied from another site. Enjoy yourself, read the short answers!

Only if it meets the following criteria:
1. it MUST contain "(pbuh)" at least once in the answer
or
2. it MUST contain a link to either the Watchtower or the LDS web site.
Then it is not only NOT a sin, but a REQUIREMENT

Nope. Plagarism is a sin though, and that's what most of those long winded answers are. Stealing.
