I know it will be damn near impossible to pass The King's 200 wins but David's 105 wins seems more realistic. He is only 35 years old and could be racing until his late 40s like Mark Martin.

I hope you are right but Gordon I believe said that he wouldnt be racing past age 40 or a little beyond and still racing part time for maybe a year or two. I think he will realize that he loves the sport to much and will race until his late 40s. If Jeff won 3 races every year for 9 years that would tie Pearson for 2nd and he would be at age 45. If he wins more then it would take less time. Then their is DW with 84 wins and another driver maybe Bobby Allison with 83 or something to that effect. He will be 36 in August in case you didnt know. I think that 2nd will be the best that Jeff can get just because 200 is a little out there and witht he competition now a days its just nearly impossible but the 7 championships may not be that far out of reach as Jeff Gordon would have 5 but the points system changed and he is working on 5 right now. So if he had won that other won he would be working on 6 now and only be 1 away but instead he is actually 2 if he wins it this year which I think he will... I think he will get to 7 but thats just me.

It will be impossible to pass Richard Petty, that record will stand until the end of time.

Jeff Gordon has stated that he will never pass Pearson with 105 wins. He said he plans to retire when he hits 40 years of age. However, I don't see how he could just walk away when he is winning races, and maybe even championships. I actually do think he might pass Pearson and I really hope he does. As long as he is winning and is competitive, I see Jeff racing for many years to come. If he DOES only race 5 more years, to pass Pearson he will need 7 wins a season....hard but not impossible.

As long as Steve Latarte can get his race set ups right, and Jeff can start winning, not sure if he will pass Pearson, he has to probably race another 5 ys, and I'm just not sure if he will race 5 more yrs. The competitiion out there now is fierce, I think he will come close, but I do not see him passing the Silver Fox Pearson. If Jeff has another yr like this yr, then its not gonna happen for sure. I'm not a Jeff Gordon fan but I do respect that he is a great driver. Yes he will pass David Pearson's 105 wins.

Jeff Gordon will exceed 105 wins. The only reason why he cannot break Richard Petty's record is because it was a lot easier to race "back in the day"!

I think he could pass David Pearson. Especially, if he races for another ten years. All he would need is around two to three victories per year. I think Jeff Gordon will wind up as second on the all-time victories list.

I don't think Gordon will stay around that long. I'm betten that 5 maybe 6 more years and he will hang it up. However, I learned long ago not to bet against some people, M.Jordon, T Woods,D Earnhart, K Bryant, George Forman and even J Gordon. When you bet against winners you end up losing.

I just looked up his wins record. I thought it was in the 50's and I was going to say, "No way". It now stands at 78, so I think he has a good chance if he stays healthy and races another 10 years or so.
