Vulture. I too am a practicing witch and was raised in a pretty religious household. Be for real. Every pagan and wiccan I know understands the whole "thou shall not worship any God before me....." Your not being literal. You are looking for a loophole to condone your form of worshipping. And if the true consequence is going to hell.. well, we're going to hell. Stop that nonsense.

Jeremiah 7:18 and Jeremiah 44:16-23 says that the people were worshipping the Queen of Heaven, a pagan Babylonian goddess. That was the cause of God's anger toward them. They were disobeying Him by doing it, and He was letting them suffer the consequences.

The first commandment states that we are not to have any other gods before the true God. "gods" in this instance includes goddesses. Kind of like when it speaks about "man" throughout the Bible in reference to all of "mankind," which means both men and women.
For instance, if I am speaking about the Chinese, you will assume I mean men and women. If I mention bodies of water, you know I mean lakes, oceans, AND rivers.
The term "gods" includes goddesses. Clear enough?

You CAN! You can worship ANYTHING that you want to. Just deal with what you get later. God promises things for worshipping any other thing other than him. Literally. And God promises things that are for those who worship him. And then there is Jeremiah ( the queen of heaven, and the King Mannaseh, as examples for you. ) Look them up! They are most certainly there!

Cool concept.
But most of your answers spoke about only one God.
But look at the bible again,
Gen 1:26 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
Sorry to say, that's speaking about more than one God folks.

Very interesting take on the subject. I don't understand why the answer to this question can not be discussed without people being hateful. Is this how you would treat this person if they came into your church and asked these questions? Then people wonder why some do not go to church. It is good to see some that some of the people have posted actual verses from the Bible instead of just getting hostile with this person.
