I'm an import fan and will honestly say that Ford cars are not all rubbish- with the exception of the Taurus and Windstar. A crown victoria is a great car. Ask any police dept. or taxicab company. Those are operations that need the best that they can get. the 1991 + Ford Escort turned out to be a good little car also- especially the GTs. It seems that while they make some pretty good running cars, they fall short dramatically compared to Toyota and Honda. Not a surprise being that all of the domestics fall short. I've owned import and domestics and my best experiences have been the Japanese brands mentioned above. Ford trucks are good also but the did have issues on certain year models where the put a C4 tranny in a truck that would have been trouble-free with a C6 tranny. Usually, they have issues the first two or three years, then they are fine after that.

Fords have as many problems as all the other manufactures do the only thing is that people pay more attension to what happens to Ford because it has been involved with more bad suppliers I.E. firestone and navistar/international, or it might have something to do with how GM and Dodge cars and trucks owners have suffered over the last 10-15 years and had to switch to a Ford until the 6.0 disaster but i figure its there own faults for buying a diesel in the first place, anyways dont hate Ford for making cars like the mustang that still out sell most all other domestic brands, try being a multiple vehicle line company and still sell as many as ford does, toyota had problems trying to do it thats why they cut back on the types of vehicles they produce when you only make say 4-5 different models its easier to find and fix problems with those vehicles, thus Honda's, BMW's, and other foreign automakers have had success, most have very few models that stretch form compact cars to fullsize trucks the specialize in a few like ive said and make those good.

American Ford has not paid attention to detail. They stopped building small cars, Ford is more of a truck builder and a successful one at that in the U.S. They have had to many failures to close together, to few successes to far apart to be recognized as an elite car company. It's a shame because they have had every opportunity in the world to provide leadership, but, they built inferior products to keep the Ford faithful buying new cars. When competitors built a good car or better, people realized they had choices, the Ford Family business found that for all of these years they practiced inept manufacturing and shortsighted goals that were out of synch with the times. I blame the management of the business on the Ford Family, they are still majority owners. While the Union is not without sin, they could not exceed better product if management is not committed to world class parts to build a world class product. Now Ford is sucking wind, because many Ford products speak for themselves. The Ford F-150 speaks for itself as well as the Ford Pinto, the recent Thunderbird, the squandered brand equity of Taurus to Ford 500 back to Taurus, or the Lincoln Zephyr which is now the Lincoln MKZ in a matter of 1-2 model years. They better get it together and soon, or all of Ford in the United States will have a Ford section in the Smithsonian Museum.

You don,t have a clue , Ford and Chevy have been around a long time , They are good cars and times have changed and ford for some unknown reason is sitting on there hands I remember when we had model change everyone at the plant was very excited about the car therefore we built a good car, Remember this an Assembly plant puts cars together with parts another plant has made , And another thought is the person bashing the union, I am a second generation union person and without unions the big company would make the money and you would make min, wages and that is not right, Think about all the CEO, COO, They make Millions and the little person makes what?? you see I am retired now and hope Ford and Chevy live long after Toyota and all the others are gone. Thanks

fords are not bad cars. yes they may be simple, some may even have bad styling (KIA) but they are good cars. its the stereotype that people put them in because for some strange reason they have decided to buy a plastic Jape import. its a company that's been around for a long time and has built up many acronyms and ratings but you cant deny that without ford Transits' and Eco's then the UK wouldn't be the place it is today. ford also cater for performance enthusiasts with the ford GT and mustang. over the years ford have also made some iconic cars such as the Le Mans winning GT40, the 67 mustang, the thunder bird and lets not forget Starskey and Hutch, the Grand Torino.

FORDS ARE GOOD CARS.

the statement that fords are rubbish is an obviously biased opinion, probably from someone thats NEVER owned a ford before. personally, i think ford is one of the better domestic automakers, right behind dodge. if you actually look at some of fords vehicles, then you'd see that your statement is completely false. though ford isnt and couldnt claim to be a company like honda, in the domestic arena, ford is in the front of the pack, again, right behind dodge. when you say that ford is rubbish, you are saying that the entire history of the company is too, and thats a statement that i wont accept as truth. the 67 shelby cobra was and still is far from being "rubbish". the fairlane thunderbolt was far from being "rubbish". the galaxy 500 was by far, an icon in muscle car history. far from rubbish, and i think that everyone here would agree with me. and saying that the first car company to mass produce is rubbish, is the most assonine comment ive ever heard in my life. just because some of its vehicles may have fallen short of your twisted measuring stick, is no reason to slander the name of a company that most other companies, and not just car companies, strive to emulate. and besides dodge and the mopar family, i dont see any other domestic company that has had the racing heritage that ford has. think before you post a question like that.

Every manufacturer has a few lemons in the field. My only complaint about Ford is that they don't always back up their vehicles and leave it to the consumer to pay out of pocket for factory defects. Other than that, I swear by Ford and Ford only. Each to his own.

you know, i dont think Ford makes crappy cars anymore, but i do think domestic auto makers dropped the ball in the 90's, thus opening the door for the imports to move in and take their customers. All the fords and gms kinda decided they would make inferior products because they knew we had no choice but to buy them, all the while they saved money. what they didnt expect was the japanese to move in and take over. now the domestic companies are having trouble getting back in the game and while i think they've dealt with most reliability issues, now its just styling. japanese cars just look better.

except the mustang. i dont think there has ever been a better value when it comes to looks, performance, and reliability.

before imports were around Ford were considered high quality...others just raised the bar and now compared to the new stuff, we see Ford as poor quality short lasting cars...by old standards our new Fords and GMs last a long time and are very advanced, but they have alot to catch up to with the newer Toyota and Honda competition...
basically, Fords are not rubbish or bad cars, just lacking in some spots and above the rest in other areas
