HELL NO!!!
In fact, when the original discipline is done and the lesson is learned, it's over and forgotten. Why continue to punish for something that has been addressed already....that is counterproductive in raising a child.

I know what you are getting at, so let me just say; I teach my daughter right from wrong and tell her what will happen and what can happen because of her action the she herself got out and did some discussing act and caught some deadly disease, then passed it on to my grandchildren, would this be a punishment from me or did she do it herself

Oh my gosh! Absolutely not!!! If my adult children were making mistakes I would make sure or attempt to help my grandchildren not to make those mistakes. But if you are referring to what you do to your parents will be done to you ten fold and the whole what you do in life against God's teachings (sins of the father) your children will suffer the consequences. I totally and truly believe in that. Its' the only thing that would explain many things that have occurred to me with no cause.

I am helping to raise my grandchildren and yes they get punished for the same things their parent did.
And when they only visited yes they still got punished for the same things their parents did.
I also give them lots of hugs and loves afterward and let them know I still love and accept them... Hmmm Just like I did my children.
edit. I guess I misunderstood your question. I love my children I don't always agree with their life choice's and one even put me through the ringer emotionally spiritually and finacially and I still love her and I still love her children. I however can see how her attitude has trickled down to her children and they behave a lot like she did. I pray for her and them.

Of course not! That's cruel and unreasonable. The only reason I punish my children now is to teach them better behavior. The punishments fit the crimes and then we hug and go on to happier things.

No, unless they do the same things.., and that is the point of what you are reaching for.
When you go to the doctor, they want to know your health history..., same with sin.
It all goes right on down through the blood, the DNA, the genes and patterns... upon which demon spirits ride down through the generations.
Like father like son... get it?
Nehemiah and Solomon and David repented "identificationally" for their sins and the sins of their ancestors and God received it!
Somebody has to change the tide and flow to make a new beginning.

No, but if you think that the grandchildren will not suffer due to the actions of the parents, then you are extremely naive...
Also, "would you try to disprove the proposition that 'God exists' is true by using bad logic"?

The children will be the punishment for their parents. We just sit back and smile while saying, "I told you so. Ready to change your mind?"

NO. why would you do that? Are you getting to the point of original sin? A child is guilty of the sins of their parents unless they are baptized? If you are I think that is ridiculous, how can my children be punished for something I did. If you are not then oops

No. They have parents to discipline. Grandchildren are for spoiling.
