I'm having a debate with a female buddy of mine about this. Should a guy call back first after a first date or should a girl? Also, for the girls, do you take it as a sign of non-interest if a guy doesn't call back after a first date?

The guy should definitely call, if he doesn't he's not interested.

As a guy, I was taught that it was always a guy to call after a first date, but no one ever taught me how soon after. It was kind of a game. How long can I keep her interested? I never liked those games. If I enjoyed my time with a women and wanted to go out again, I'd call her in a day or two. If I really enjoyed the time, I'd ask her out again before I kissed her goodnight.

I think the guy should call after the first date. Even if he is not interested in her. It is a respectful on his part to the girl. But if the guy is way to shy to even call after the first date like my boyfriend than the girl should.

Us women freak out if a guy doesnt call after the first date because we think that he didnt have a good time or that he isnt interested. I think its good for a guy to call the girl the next day or the day after the next one. I guess it all REALLY depends on the guy based on how much of a good time/how interested in her he is.

I always say as a guy that if I have a great time and enjoyed her company I will usually call the next day so I guess the guy should call first

definitely a guys place to call after a first date. But he shouldn't call right away and he should make it really casual and not sound all desperate. And if he doesn't call me I'm definitely not calling him so I guess there would be no second date!

Friday evening is many times for, like, serious dates. He would experience uncomfortable asking you for a date on Friday because of the fact he's apprehensive you will think of him too forward. Or it would desire to be his way of exclaiming he would not plan on sound asleep with you after the 1st date.

Guys should always call back first. They should also make the first move, say "I love you" first and do all of that stuff... first.
And yes, I would definitely think he were not interested if he didn't call back. I would be insulted and upset.

I think the guy should call back.... cause a girl would do the calling but out of fear that the guy would see it as a sign of pushiness... she usually wont... and yes, if a guy doesn't call back.. it is seen as the guy doesn't care.

yeah, I think the guy should really call back - but within 2 days, that's a good rule of thumb. Women do start to think non-interest if no call back within 2 days.
