The eye that is swollen could be infected i have a 3 week old kitten and i had to put stuff in her eye to make it go away. Is the eye closed shut or is it open?? If its closed the reason its looks swollen is beacause it most likely is filled will puss. You should go to ur vet but until then take a warm cloth and wide the eye with it gently but not 2 hard cause it coulld pop its eye if u press 2 hard. and the sneeze its most likely just a small cold. if u need to know more just email me

Is there gunk in her eyes too?

Kittens are notorious for catching "Upper respiratory Infections".

Out of no where they will get one. Even if it is the ONLY cat in your home.

URI travels far and wide sweet peas...It is amazing how contractible this virus is.

For awhile the kittens/cats will be "normal" but it will not last long nor does it go away on it's own.

They symptoms might go away but the URI is till lurking making kitty sicker and sicker.

Lowering her immune system defenses more and more till a major catastrophe strikes and your vet bill will be a few hundred dollars NOT counting the costs of the medicine(s) she now needs to take care of all the underlying infections.

So yes, run don't walk to a vet. IF money is a problem (vets are uber expensive now a days. Even the rich folk complain)
BEG the vet to help you out. A payment plan perhaps? Shop around, ok?

You need to pay for the antibiotics to treat the URI too. Some nice and compassionate vets will give you the medicine for free if you pay the office visit price in full.

My vet charges $54 fckin dollars to walk in the door! LESS than 15 minutes later I walk out with a bill for over 80$ bucks!

54$ for the visit and 35$ for the antibiotics.

It is NOT over yet..I drive for about a 1/2 hour on I-95 (I'm in Ct.) to pick up the antibiotics at a pharmacy that is cheaper than ALL the ones in my fine (not) city.

Then I bring the powdered antibiotics back to the office for the vet tech's to cut up and split up and put the powder in 3 different bottles. Each bottle lasts 10 days once the water is added to it. It treats and "cures" 1 cat (1 bottle that is). I then have 2 undiluted bottles in my possesion incase of an emergency. THAT alone is worth the 35$ price. They helped us out after hearing ALL of my bitching and my husbands bitching. I give props for that on their part.

My cat Shadow is now being treated for a URI (like what your kitten has) She was given "Zithromax" AKA: "Azithromycin."

Yes, it is a "human" antibiotic. BUT cats are "mammals" like us. They have similar makings on the inside. They respond to a human antibiotic BETTER than a weak, watered down, pricey cat antibiotic. A lot cheaper to. Besides you think that "cat" antib's are NOT derived from "human" ones? Think again sweet peas...

Now, it has been 4 days and there is no more gooby eye and her cold is hella better not gone mind you but almost.

It is imparitive to finsh the medicine. As long as your vet says or until the bottle is empty. Usually the latter. Better safe than sorry for the poor kitty suffering from this horrible, potentionally fatal virus.

Is your kitten with any other cats? Have they all been properly vaccinated? There is a vaccione for URI's btw. Get it for all your cats unless you want to shell out big bucks everytime she gets ill. It gets worse and worse each time btw. She will suffer greatly until she (peacefully) dies if this is ignored or treated improperly.

If she looks good after 3 days on the medicine do not stop giving it to her. No matter what!

Well, your kitten is definitely allergic to something in the air. The best you can do is keeping it in the cleanest place in your home and the litter box clean. Wet food always in a non- porous plate so she'll eat (wet food contains the nutrients she needs to grow healthy) and always have water around.

She might have an eye infection. Keep her eye clean as much as possible just bye using a wet a rag or cotton swabs.

But, most importantly take her to the vet.

Sounds like it could be allergies. She needs a visit with the vet to find out the actual problem and possibly start medication.

She may have a cold or she could be having an allergic reaction to something in her environment. You should take her to the vet.
