Ok two things...............
1)eat a banana 30 minutes to an hour before the ceremony starts. The sugar and the potassium will help with the lightheadedness and blood flow when under stress.
2) Don't lock your knees......this does affect circulation. Instead stand like Miss America stands or models on the runway. Stand legs together with one foot slightly pointed out away from your body with knee loosely bent, the other foot pointing straight ahead and knee locked, bearing the weight of your body. If you get tired, shift legs. It's quite easy and looks very feminine. (I understand your dress will be covering your legs but...) Practice and get used to standing like that so when your wedding comes along you will find it a very natural way to stand. Best wishes...................................

Yes, locking your knees will make you pass out. I know, I did it at my wedding and the next thing I knew, I was looking up at the ceiling with about 20 faces surrounding me. Don't lock your knees....;)

If you have a really long service in a warm place (outdoors, or the church/hall is warm) you are more likely to feel faint.
Locking your knees (basically not moving your feet) can change your blood flow slightly - in addition to the heat or being dehydrated -- can cause you to faint.
Be sure you have a cool drink right before the service, and try to breathe deeply if you feel stressed. Under your dress, you can shift your weight a little without anyone noticing.

One of the drill sergeants passed out at my brother's boot camp graduations because he locked his knees. My brother told me that the military specifically tells you that you may pass out if you lock your knees...so apparently it's comment knowledge to them. I had no idea before that.

Yeah locking your knees stops circulation and you end up passing out.
This happened to me in boot camp in the military.
Make sure you bend your knees slightly.

It cuts off the blood flow is what I've heard. I think being in a lot of material (being hot) and nervous also has a lot to do with passing out.

it cuts some of the circulation. and when youre already nervous and stressed about the wedding, it seriously strains youre body and causes you to pass out.

I've never heard that, but I guess it's possible. I would suspect they pass out beacuas of nerves, lack of hydrations or they haven't eaten anything. Just take deep breaths and relax.
