Or are they the same idea?

The sin nature is passed on from the dad. That is why the promised redeemer was to be the Seed of the Woman, Genesis3:15. My Pastor preached that. www.riveroflifefellowship.org . Jesus is the seed of the woman born without sin nature. Tempted like us, yet defeated the serpent & death.

Two different things altogether.
We are sin (original)
We have a sin nature (all of ours differ)
They are two different categories of sin being explained.

I believe the original sin references the first sin of disobediance on the parts of Adam and Eve.

Being born with sin means that sin entered the world with that original sin, and there is no way we can be perfect anymore - We are going to sin many times in our lives.

You aren't really suggesting that the "sin nature" (by which I presume you mean "sinful nature" or "flesh", the terminology used in English translations of the writings of Paul) is caused by a gene on the Y chromosome are you? Is the cure for it something geneticists should be researching? Where did you get this idea from?!

All varieties of sin are innovations of the non secular as area of a gotcha. convince people who an afterlife exists and that they have a soul. this theory has been around with the aid of fact a minimum of the time of the pyramids, yet then it basically utilized to the kings of Egypt. So it is not too confusing to try this, with the aid of fact all of us is as good as one among those fellows, or so as that they think of. Now invent sin as one among those black mark on the soul which finally ends up in punishment in the afterlife. define sin so extensively that almost all of us sins almost the 2d they get away from mattress known. So no person can stay away from it. in the event that they're fairly virtuous, you are able to hit them with 'unique sin' whether it somewhat is scarcely mandatory. To get out of this you are able to desire to have faith greater or much less despite some priest / pastor tells you approximately how the meant execution of a meant Jewish non secular reformer supposedly 2000 years in the past a technique or the different cancels those meant black marks on the meant soul which a technique or the different finally ends up in greater advantageous amusement in the meant afterlife. does not all of us think of this tale is somewhat far fetched?

The doctrine of "original sin" teaches that we're born sinners.

Those believing in a "Sin nature" (such as myself) believe that we are born with the ability to decide whether or not we will sin.

They are two entirely different concepts.

EDIT: The *INCLINATION* to sin is *NOT* the same as actually sinning. Also, those who are Born Again are STILL sinners, but their sins are forgiven.

There is

NO

difference. Being born with a sin nature from dad is the nature he passed on to us. It is the original sin that everyone inherited through our parents, down through the ages, from Adam when he sinned. There was no child born before he sinned so eveyone after him has the sin nature in them,

UNTIL,

they get saved. Those who

NEVER

get saved die with that sin nature still in them.

Original sin was what Eve did, and what Adam agreed to doing. Because of this, we are all now born with sin.

original sin is a load of crap, but you can be born with genetic tendencies to do certain things.

I don't see them as being the same thing, nor do they have to be related to eachother.
