Still alive today:
Christopher Paolini
Margaret Atwood
many actors/actresses
various sports figures
Homeschoolers are still a very small percentage of the student population. It would be unreasonable to say that because there aren't a lot of famous modern homeschoolers it means that homeschooling doesn't work.
And to the person who responded they're all dead, everybody who at a tomato in 1850 is dead, too...

Andrew Wyeth (still alive and kicking, although 90 years old)
According to Wikipedia:
Andrew Wyeth is the son of N.C. Wyeth, a famous American illustrator and artist. He was born July 12, 1917 in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. The youngest of five children, Andrew Wyeth was home-tutored and learned art from his father. In 1937 at age twenty, Wyeth had his first one-man exhibition of watercolors at Macbeth Gallery in New York City. The entire inventory of paintings quickly sold out, and Wyeth's career was launched.
His most famous work, and one of the most well-known images in 20th century American art, is Christina's World (1948), in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Emerson Spartz, founder of mugglenet.com, one of the biggest Harry Potter websites around. When he was twelve, he started homeschooling, was horribly bored, and started Mugglenet in his spare time. I'm not sure if you could call him famous, but the HP fans sure know him!
