My dermatologist is going to give me a lotion to remove red and brown marks left by pimples.

From what Ive seen on Y!A, some people say pimple marks can fade completely while others say they cant.

So does anyone know which is the truth? :)

P.s I dont pop my pimples

The truth is your Dr. is probably going to prescribe you a lightening product like hydroquinone, that helps lighten pigmentation. Maybe even rentin-a to help exfoliate the lighting areas. These areas will fade, but you will have to maintain it with the products the Dr. is going to give you. It is very important to use a nice sunscreen to this area, due to the spots will get darker if you don't. The only way to remove those spots permatatly is to have laser done or have the dermatologist burn them off. I had them burned off before and healing process was great, after they healed, I haven't seen any spots in that area in over 10 years. The areas I treated to fade, came right back after I stoped using the product. So good luck! I am glad you do not pop your pimples, it's the worst thing to do, if you want to prevent more blemishes.

It sounds like you just have discoloration of your skin, some people have pock marks and those you can't really do anything for. So, yes whatever cream you Dr. is giving you will probably clear your skin up. You should drink a lot of water and take Vitamin E that will help clear up your blemishes. You can also put Vitamin E on your marks, but since you are using the cream just try that out and see how it works.

The answer is simple, rub a lemon slice over your blemishes for a couple of days and you'll notice a big change. As far as the marks going away on their own I can vouch for that. I think it depends on how severe the pimple was in the first place. Some of mine tend to go away on their own and the ones I bothered or are stubborn and won't clear up, I cut up a lemon and get to rubbing...It really does work.

its true that some pimples fades completely in due time..ya know why some dont? because they keep on pinching the scars..the more you touch it the longer it takes for the pimples to fade because of the bacteria of your fingers. the best thing you can do is try not to think about it...stress could added up to ya know....and use some homemade mask, which is safer than products you have to buy outside.

Shallow pimple scars & discoloration from pimples can be treated.

I used Retin-A & Differin on mine which helped tremendously.

Deep, ice pick scars from acne are really hard to eliminate.
