ok now that I have your attention let me start my question
Most people seem to agree that Mexico's government is corrupt and is keeping its poor, poor. That being why mexicans flee here.
It has been stated that if Mexico used its resources to improve the life of the average Mexican the Americans would be much kinder in their opinions of Mexicans.
Why are we so mean to Mexicans if it is indeed their government and not them personally? Wouldnt that be like everyone in the world hating us just because of our government? Totally basing all their opinions of us on our government and nothing else?

And how can we call them "lazy" if there are no jobs there and yet they come here and work their @sses off?

Micky........how you described Mexicans is basically an OPINION and does not sum it up for EVERY mexican here.
Basically I think you take stereotypes and run with them....I find some of your posts pure lies. But this is AMERICA and your entitled to your opinion no matter how misinformed and ignorant it is!

I agree with you 100%. Everytime I hear from someone "they need to fix their own country" it makes me so mad because no one seems to understand. The country is corrupt. Almost all of Mexico's money is owned by 1 % of the country. So if you aren't Rich, then you are only dirt poor. There is no middle ground. We act like it should be so easy for Mexicans to change their own country but look how we as americans can't fix our own!! We blame mexicans because of their poor country and say that they are causing our country to become poor too. So we take out all our animosity on them when we should be aiming it at the Mexican and United States of American Government. Not the people. THE GOVERNMENT. Maybe if we collaborated with Mexico we might be able to help their country become more prosperous and weed out all the corrupt government officials and then mexicans would willingly go back to their own country. Without outside help Mexico will probably never prosper....But regardless of the outcome, I am ashamed of most americans because of their blatant racism and hatred of mexican americans as a whole.

Excellent points and an excellent headline to grab my attention. The problem with the corruption starts with the elite in Mexico who believe they are above the law and laws only apply to the lower classes. Mexico has almost no middle class even though it has been growing since the NAFTA agreements. They also have several BILLIONARES and a former corrupt president living in self imposed exile because his family got caught taken billions in foreign aid and putting it in the family accounts. Yes they are corrupt.
As for being lazy, some are some aren't. I believe the real problem many people have is that the Mexican worker expects to work long hours and for little pay. I had a neigbor who complained constantly about the Mexicans taking his job. He lost his job when the housing industry was in a slump. His boss asked him to take a 10 % cut in pay until the industry picked up. He refused. Then the company's drywall business ran short of cash and the owner asked the crew to work shorter hours. The Mexican workers adjusted to keep him in business and to keep their jobs. Many took second jobs. My neighbor couldn't find work in drywall anywhere. Then the housing industry took off again and the company had more work than it could handle. The Mexicans were given bonuses for helping out the owner. When my neighbor got rehired he complained because he didn't get a bonus. Then when the company asked everyone to work 12 hours a day six days a week my neighbor refused. He wanted the money but wanted time to for himself. He got fired because he wasn't Mexican (his claim). His boss said he whined too much and used racist terms for Mexicans. The last time I saw my neighbor he was moving becasue he couldn't get work in the drywall industry. He said the Mexicans stole his job. But the fact is, he was lazy and complained too much. I know must of the Mexicans were undocumented but if not for their work ethic, the drywall company would have had to hire a bunch of lazy whiners and the homes would have cost more.
Undocumented aliens are driving our economy. That is why there may be no immigration reform. Big business doesn't want anything changed.

What the HELL are you doing with him. He is 30 YEARS OLDER THAN YOU! You even said he is older than your mom. Where did he meet you? At the school bus stop, on his way to the retirement home! You only want him, cause he said he is like a father figure! Well you are very nasty, if you look at him like a father, but will f*ck him! You are only 18. Your whole life is ahead of you. Why settle for someone who probably have wrinkled balls! You are a child to him. He will take advantage of you, then leave your little dumb naive a**! And he probably is an illegal alien, who is just using you to get citizenship. I bet if he asked you to marry him, you would pack up your Barbie suitcase and do it! You are so pathetic! What can a 48 year old male and an 18 year old have in common? Think about it, and get a clue. When he hurts your little feelings, don't come back to Yahoo, asking for advice. Just go to your room with your bottle and baby blanket and cry yourself to sleep! You are such a fool!

I am a 100% Mexican, and I am proud of it. I came to this country when I was 15 years old. I am 26 now. I came here with no knowledge of English. I graduated from High School, and earned a Associates Degree and working my way up to get my Bachelor's Degree.
After saying that, I have not asked not even once money from the U.S. Government. I pay taxes like everybody else as well as my mom and all my relatives. It makes me upset that we get stereotype by people and telling us that we collect welfare.
I live in California, and I see a lot of Americans asking me for "spare change" on the streets. I never and will never give an American my money that I earned very hard. I see here a lot of Americans living on the government. LOTS OF THEM. They collect money because they can't work. How nice is that.
There are many Mexicans who are very hard workers, and people really should not even speak before they get their records straight . Is like me saying that all Americans are white trash.

I totally agree, you do not know how long I've been coming in here stating the same. All people can say are racial slurs. It is indeed the goverments that cause these type of situations. If the Mexican goverment, Along with the government of other Central American coutries, would only think about the people instead of themself, we wouldn't be in the situation.
I want to thank you for taking your time to state a fact.
People will never understand, they are to close-minded. But it was worth the try!

It's not a matter of being "mean" to anybody. It's a matter of enforcing our laws against illegal ALIENS, period.
Like another poster said there are BILLIONS of people around the world that would love to immigrate here. There's only one way to do it, the legal way.
Do you think Mexico is the only poor country in the world?? There are NUMEROUS countries that are poorer. Should we only admit immigrants from the poorest countries?? If so, Mexico would be bypassed.
Each COUNTRY gets a quota every year, that's the only fair way to do it.

In my opinion, Loretta, you act as if this only happens with Mexicans. There are scumbag men in every race. And a processing plant? You think anyone, no matter what race they are, working at a processing plant is classy? LOL.

If I were leaving a corrupt country to make a better life in another country, I would not wave my countrys flag in the new country, expect them to learn my language, expect them to support me and my family, steal their jobs n laugh about it,nor would I tell them this new country belongs to me and my people and they should get out, I also would not act racially superior and rude.
The mexicans come here breaking laws and doing the things I described. That's where the hatred lies, they bring it on themselves.

Christa honey let me explain this to you.You know these nice people on here really don't have too many brains so I'll keep it simple. They are against ANY type of immigration reform because they can't read and comprehend. They also can't imagine what 12 million people looks like. They don't realize some STATES don't have 12 million people in them. They also think z-visa's will give the illegals the right to vote. But those of us with brains know this isn't true. But small people have small brains and this is a medical fact.So try to use really small words when you write ok? Thank you ...now get to work ! LOL and yes my coffee is cold.Come make me a cup!

Has anyone noticed the media's switch from "illegal alien" to "illegal immigrant"? I think the "Shrub" administration has weaseled that into the lingo to soften the blow of this asinine immigration bill just so they can influence us to support "immigrants" rather than "aliens".
My daughter-in-law came to this country LEGALLY and had to wait her turn in line to be awarded a green card. It took over 4 years because of the incompetence of the INS. Just imagine what will happen if "amnesty" is granted to all the illegals. It will be a HUGE logjam and super-unfair to those who use LEGAL channels.
Let your representatives know how you view this insanity!

Yes we know Mexico's govt is corrupt....It robs its people and doesn't reinvest that money back into the country to help its people, but there is also another reason for Mexico poverty and some of it has to do with US foreign policy there and all over Latin American countries....One other issue is NAFTA....Since it was instituted, it really hurt the Mexican economy, putting out of business many small business owners, who were the foundation of Mexican economy....The last great wave of immigrants coming to this country from Mexico has been in the last 20 years, much of it to do, with NAFTA sucking away those jobs from Mexico....We just need to stop mingling in other countries and focus on our own...
