I would call animal control cause it sounds like the little thing is being tortured to death.

Wearing LONG SLEEVE tucked into GLOVES, carefully place the chipmunk in a box lined with an old towel, then put it someplace quiet and away from the cat. Call your local wildlife rehabilitator. He or she will tell you how to proceed from there and probably take the animal so that it can be properly cared for and eventually released. Good luck!

O.o ! Keep it away from the cat. They can eat them. I love chipmunks. ^-^. I would say find a cage for it, and put nuts, acorns and other things a chipmunk eats. I don't know if these are some things that they do eat actually. Put some water for it too. Keep the cage in another room where the cat cannot have access to.

If you cat brought it in the house, then use something to catch it in and tke it out in the woods and let it go. If it is a pet now, find a small cage and put newspaper in it with food and get a water bottle just like you would a hampster.

Put the cat in the bathroom, make a trail of treats (i.e. nuts or whatever these things eat) to the nearest exit. Then leave the house for a few minutes.

You might want to record the even and post it on http://www.youtube.com

They like nuts so get some small nuts and what is called a "BOX" trap set in your rooms. It shouldn't take more than an hour and you'll have it! Take it outside and set it free then find out how it got into your room!

If it is still alive. Contact the Humane Society and tell them you need someone to rescue it. You can also retrieve the little one and take it to the Humane Society. They have a department to hospitalise and care for him until well enough to returned to the wild.
