meets THEIR specifications in order for them to acknowledge Him?
The people in Moses day tried to test God. They wanted a sign. They tempted God by telling Moses to give them water from solid rocks in the desert.
Exodus 17:1-6
The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the LORD commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. So they quarreled with Moses and said, "Give us water to drink."
Moses replied, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the LORD to the test?"
But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, "Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?"
Then Moses cried out to the LORD, "What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me."

The LORD answered Moses, "Walk on ahead of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go.
I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink." So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.
Many people tept God today in this SAME way.
But God has already revealed to man His Truth. It's in His Word. The next "big" sign will be Jesus returning in ALL of His glory.

1988, The Devil is a liar, in case YOU forgot; lest you be.....decieved.
Demand ALL the evidence you want....it's your choice. But I REALLY addressed THIS questions to those who "choose" the Lord as their Savior. I'll have a couple of questions for you all later.

er, As far as "revelation" is concerned; The Bible is ALL the revelation we need, and are going to get, in THIS dispenation. Besides all of that, with can "look deeper" into all that He has created, and give Him the glory, rather that man, who He ALSO created.

God Revealed himself to Moses, Abraham, the Apostles and various others according to the stories within the Bible. Unless he has spoken directly to you then you have not recieved revelation and instead have had a story of someone elses revelation passed on to you. Some people look deeper into the idea of their relationship with god and think that they need him to actually reveal his will to them rather than following a 1600 year old book about people from 1000's of years ago. Not everyone can actually accept everything within the Bible as fact and use their intellect and reason to search for the meaning of life and the universe rather than being able to have blind faith that these stories were handed to them by a divine hand.

Modern people instinctively crave evidence to validate any position, including faith.
Edit: "Evidence", meaning obvious divine acts that cannot be refuted as being natural phenomenon.
The destruction of New Orleans by Katrina, if it were discussed in the Bible, would have been horribly embellished with all sorts of fantastic events occuring. However, since we're in modern times, we know it was just a bad hurricane.
Evidence that would suffice today would be something akin to booming voices from the sky, people being turned into pillars of salt, ect. Strangely, nothing like that has happened on the order of thousands of years...

Since when is it wrong to deman evidence, especially for somethign as important as wheter God exist or not. Should't God know we were going to ask those questions, and if he did why doesnt he just answer. Just because you quote scripture doesnt mean you are right, after all even the devil quotes scripture in case you forgot about the New Testament, Jesus said.

People in quotes? Does that mean only the Christians are people?
And, sorry, with so many different possibilities and gods/Gods in the world, these "people," including me, need some kind of proof to choose one, or even to choose at all. Since that hasn't been given - or has been given in excess (see any holy text that proclaims itself to be true, including the Bible) - we can't choose something like that.
