As I've always said, being a secretary is akin to being a mother, except you have executives instead of children.
Like anything else, there are some perks, but it is not my dream job.

Ok, first we are not referred to as "secretaries"...we are office administrators. Much more appealling.
It all depends on the job and the employer. I've been in this field for 25 years and I've been with several different employers.
I've worked in medical, business, non-profit and prefer a smaller office. You are not a number and you are appreciated more.
Depending on your level of experience, you can be a HUGE asset to a company.
Always remember to upgrade your skills and know your worth.

It's not bad. I can think of a lot worse jobs out there. And hey at least I am employed!
