No your not the only one as I'm disgusted that they left their three children alone and if they had done that at home they would have been charged with child neglect. The other children would have been taken away from them and put into care.
Everyone is blaming the person who took Madeline but if her parents had taken their children with them for a meal then the person who took Madeline wouldn't have had the opportunity to take her in the first place.I'm not condoning what the person who took her did as it was wrong but there is people out there like that and we should all be extra vigilant with our children and they should not be left home alone.
I feel sorry for the missing child but not the parents as they should have known you don't leave children of that age alone in a flat by themselves.

Why couldn't they get a babysittter? Hello one cant go about being like a sixteen year old in love and forget their responsibilities. I hope other parents I have seen partying on the Costa Brava for weeks on end learn from this.

You are not the only one that is still mad at Madeline's parents. There are a lot of people out there who feel that way including me. I have a 2 year old son and I would not leave my four year old nephew with him just so I could go out to eat with friends. They are adults and parents and should have known better to do that. With all the kidnappings in the world today you would think that they would know that. I just hope that the little girl turns up soon alive and well.Ignore the ***holes that are leaving mean comments!

No, you are not the only one. My husband and myself are absolutely furious. How can anyone go on a "family holiday" and leave three under fives on their own! The children go where the parents go. If "Ma and Pa" wanted to holiday alone, then they should have left the kids at home with a member of the family, then we will not have this situation. If myself and my hubby were to do the same thing, which we would not, we would be arrested for child neglect and abandonment!!!

I recently was reading an on line interview with the mother who stated that people should not call them irresponsible because it would not have been any different than other parents dining in their backyard while their children slept in the house.
I certainly do blame them for that little girl missing. It's a terrible situation for them as parents, but imagine how terrifying it must have been for Madeline to be taken from the room in the first place?
The parents are in denial about how serious it was to leave their children unattended in a hotel.

yes it was wrong of them,but for gods sake,they have most likely lost a daughter through there stupidity,isnt that enough.

i think most people feel that the McCanns acted irresponsibly but most people have put that to one side in order to think about the child who is missing.
no-one has forgotten how she went missing, people are now just concentrating on looking for her.

And by asking this question you are doing what the parents want by publicising the disappearance, they said they felt guilty BUT they also said they felt they had done nothing wrong and said it was no different from eating in their garden with the kids in bed so lets move on and hope social services take an active role in protecting the other 2 children when they come home.

You are not the only one! I was wondering why no one has mentioned the fact that they left that little girl alone in a hotel in a foreign country no less. I feel bad that this little girl was taken but, she wouldn't have been taken if her parents would of been responsible for her.I don't even leave my kids in the car when I get gas.!!They seemed to be more concerned with feeding their guts instead of taking that little girl with them. I really hope they find her.
